"Pure Faith"

beyond tear-stained Biblical passages -

crucifixes, now stored in drawers -

pure faith remains


too complex -

or perhaps too simple -

to be confined by "rules"


silently,

this young girl prays -

here, in the fullness of an empty church -

in the spiritual fullness of a church,

where she feels closer than ever to

her gods
