"The Fullness of an Empty Church"

I’d rather pray inside an empty church –

Prefer to go when there’s no service on.

I’ll wait until the people have all gone.

It feels more spiritual that way. I search

For truths I also find in oak and birch

Trees. I could choose a star to wish upon.

I’d rather pray inside an empty church –

Prefer to go when there’s no service on.

A little budgie sitting on her perch;

Each joyful moment when the sun has shone:

Faith is accessible to everyone.

God is not something for us to research.

I’d rather pray inside an empty church –

Prefer to go when there’s no service on.
